TAPERIX Cyprus tavern

Just to be clear, I’m a tourist. This is an amazing restaurant. Delicious, authentic Cypriot food and excellent service. Everything you could want. We have been 3 times during our 2 week holiday, each time was a fantastic experience. The staff are really welcoming and helpful. The owner looked after us incredibly well, helping us to negotiate the menu and ensuring we ordered exactly the right amount of food. He also has a brilliant sense of humour, there was a lot of laughter and banter each time he visited our table. You book in advance as the place is packed (with mainly Cypriot people - a recommendation in itself) every night. A 5 star evening out.

Arrived late without reservation but Savvas managed to get us a table! The food and service were fantastic and will definately visit again! The low review score on Google maps is completely ridiculous as this place is far superior to the usual tourist spots by the harbour!

Great place for authentic greek food. Don't be fooled by the empty tables and first ask the service where can you sit. They don't use the "reservation" signs so it can be a bit misleading. Overall the food was probably the best we had in Cyprus. The garden is beatiful especially after dark. Recommend for all - just remember talk to the service before sitting.

We have been to this restaurant a number of times and always been courteously treated. The food is excellent but don’t expect the usual tourist flannel, the owner has always treated us with respect.

Always fresh and delicious - it never disappoints! It has a cute back yard which is lovely on summer nights! This is not your usual tavern where you have to order the whole meze set menu. You get a big list of local and seasonal dishes to choose from and you just tick off the ones you like! Reasonable prices for the high quality you get. Mr. Savvas is always so accommodating! We will keep going back.

Very nice restaurant serving tasty cypriot food, the service is super fast despite that only two people serves the restaurant even if it is full. In Winter it is cozy with a fire place just in the middle of the space. Prices are fair. The average review score 3.9 is not reflecting a correct feedback, it is underrated.
